Andrew Fleming
Andrew Fleming is a recent graduate of the Glasgow School of Art. Andrew explores the subject of silversmithing and its relationship to the built environment.
Having studied architecture, Andrew is fascinated by construction processes within architecture. Temporary structures such as scaffolding and formers inspire his process. In his research, he concentrates on creating tableware and vessels, considering our relationship with silver and exploring how silverware today should best function in relation to the needs of its contemporary user.
Focusing on simple linear forms inspired by the structures around him and using a mix of both precious metals with non-precious metals such as steel, he creates fascinating contemporary pieces of silverware.
