Alice Fry is an award-winning jeweller and silversmith whose work encapsulates the natural beauty of crystals, rocks and mineral formations. Inspiration comes from visiting the Blue John Stone caves in Derbyshire, and The Hunterian Museum, where she photographs and sketches the mineral collections. She creates these sculptural forms using the ancient technique of chasing and repoussé. As well as silver, Alice uses the metal niobium in her work, which allows her to add vibrant and iridescent colours to her pieces through the technique of anodising. She is one of two makers in the UK specialising in this refractory metal.
