A love of pattern is central to Alison Macleod’s designs, inspired by the busy Victorian aesthetic but with a modern, balanced approach. She is fascinated by family heirlooms, sentimental pieces building significance as they’re passed down through generations. It is this emotional value which Alison aims to imbue into her pieces.

Alison has developed her signature ‘Catkin’ pattern by layering tiny discs and soldering each one in place. Her designs come together in Fairtrade gold with clusters of precious stones. She works intuitively, responding to the stones she has gathered and the shapes around her while constantly referring to her sketchbook.
