Charlotte Tollyfield

A fascination with geometric shapes and symmetry has been evident in Charlotte Tollyfield’s work throughout her creative career. In recent years this had focused on angular, sometimes fractal forms and faceted surfaces, but through recent skills training opportunities in raising, sinking and forging, she has begun to return to softer, curvilinear forms and to investigate the purpose of the handle in both a functional and aesthetic role. Charlotte’s design ethos centres on purity of form and a largely minimalist aesthetic, occasionally interrupted by hard woods with distinctive grain structures to add colour and texture.
