We are thrilled to welcome Scotland’s Art Colleges back to Edinburgh for Elements: Festival of Jewellery, Silver and Gold. Elements will provide graduates of Scotland’s Art Colleges with an opportunity to exhibit and sell pieces of contemporary jewellery and silver to the Element audience.
VISIT
Naomi MacKenzie work is inspired by the Highlands of Scotland, creating simple pieces with hints of colour. Naomi believes the landscapes and elements found in the Highlands have a large impact on her work, allowing the pieces to have organic shapes and sensation about them. Focusing mostly on the sea and beaches found in the Highlands allows Naomi to achieve an organic feel to her work. Naomi creates statement pieces that have an unusual look about them through texture, shape and form.
Designer Laura Grace Caldwell creates jewellery to make you feel fabulous. Laura’s bold, dramatic & colourful designs are handcrafted from her studio in the east end of Glasgow. Laura’s background in theatre design greatly influences her work and carries through her styling, photography & designs. Drawing inspiration from her Scottish surroundings, Laura works with silver and polymer clay to create unique and one off designs for statement wear or the everyday wear.
Carly Wilson’s collection, Undulating, has evolved from and been heavily influenced by the movement of the sea, the natural beauty and fragility of our shorelines. The rings have been shaped to mirror the ceaseless movements of waves lapping on the shore. Although the motion itself is almost hypnotically repetitive, each individual wave is unique and original.
