Aileen Dickie-Adams came to precious metal jewellery after nearly 20 years of beadweaving. Striving to combine two traditional crafts that span thousands of years she also has an eye to the future, working with recycled silver, ethically-sourced gemstones and sustainably-produced Japanese glass beads.

Drawing inspiration from a love of the wild beauty of Scottish landscapes, and combining with a lifetime of happy memories of beach walks and exploring tidepools along the Scottish coastline Aileen creates pieces with detail, texture and hidden delights. The tactile nature of Aileen’s work often invokes a sense of movement and invites the wearer to explore the piece further.

This tactile nature and Scottish coastal inspiration can be seen in the competition winning “Corryvreckan” brooch Aileen designed for, and presented to, the First Minister, Ms. Nicola Sturgeon as part of the COP26 Conference in 2021.

Anne Richardson recently graduated from the City of Glasgow College with a HND in Jewellery, Arts and Technology. She likes to take her inspiration from her love of the seaside, in particular shells that have been washed ashore. She uses shapes and textures, found in the natural world, to inspire her designs and work. She loves the play on contrasts and how they can work together to create beautiful pieces that mimic nature. Her work is a mixture of hand made and cast pieces which complement her own personal connection to the seaside and its splendour.

Linda Mahoney’s design collection ‘Synergy’ evolved from looking at the connection we have with the shoreline and the space we occupy when we are there. Linda explores the interaction between ocean and land as metaphor for how we act upon each other and our environment, a form of 'synergy'. Traditional jewellery making techniques, new technologies and sustainable practices are key elements in Linda’s design work.
