Josephine Gomersall’s creations are inspired by British wildflowers and familiar plants-forms, exploring notions of transience, impermanence, fragility and the importance of our connectedness to nature. Her nature-inspired collections aim to capture the essence of ephemeral plant-forms through her depictions in lustrous sterling silver. Josephine’s work is nostalgic, evoking memories of childhood exploration of the natural world.

Josephine has an interest in historical botanical illustrations, printed from hand engraved copper-plates, then coloured by hand. She also shares an appreciation of Ikebana; the Japanese art of flower arranging and Charles Rennie Mackintosh flower drawings which have influenced her practice and delicate, distinctive style.
