Setting aside perceived values and focusing on natural qualities allows Lucy Martin to create gemstone combinations with strong individuality. Using recycled metals and employing traditional techniques to handmake all elements, the resulting jewellery is sleek and minimal whilst retaining the soul that handcrafting offers.
Lucy works with a framework of clean lines, mixed metals and luminous colour, beyond which there is room to explore new textures, forms and details. Recent works use a ridged texture to accentuate knotted shapes, precise chamfered edges, layered fused metals and bold talismanic forms.
