In Conversation: Ellis Mhairi Cameron

During the Elements weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting a series of online ‘In Conversation’ sessions with Ebba Goring, Director of The Incorporation of Goldsmiths and a number of this years’ Elements exhibitors, delving into their work and the inspiration behind the pieces they create.

Watch below to view the conversation with Ebba and jeweller Ellis Mhairi Cameron.

Ellis Mhairi Cameron is a Scottish fine jeweller. She creates sculptural fine jewellery, inspired by her Scottish Heritage. Inspiration is taken from the landscape and the medieval jewellery hoards which have been found across the Scottish Highlands. Ellis uses traditional techniques and hand skills to give her pieces their signature rugged aesthetic. Working in gold and diamonds, each piece is a fusion of intricacy and erosion. At the foundation of her work is a belief in the beauty of imperfections, hand craftsmanship and a desire to provide clients with jewellery which can be handed down throughout the generations.
