Simone Nolden

Simone’s jewellery is inspired by traditional goldsmithing techniques combined with elements from rural and urban landscapes. Discovering the beauty of everyday things in unlikely settings is the main catalyst for her work.

Characteristic for her jewellery are silent colours, a sense of security and small movement which represent the contrasting cultural and formal threads that run through her life, having grown up in the Rhine-Ruhr area of Germany, a predominantly industrial landscape that is marked by its mining heritage, and now working in Scotland, where she has been living for the past 10 years.

In owning a piece of her jewellery, the wearer gains a sense of an object’s previous life and provenance as well as the tactile pleasure a well handcrafted object can bring.
