Charlotte Tollyfield’s fascination with geometric shapes and symmetry has been evident in her work throughout her creative career.
Recently Charlotte’s work has evolved, becoming more sculptural, although no less functional, with a focus on angular, sometimes fractal forms and faceted surfaces. Her design process starts with the creation of a range of models to use as a visual aide, focusing on the composition and structure of shape and form. She has also introduced other materials, specifically hard woods with distinctive grain structures, as a way of bringing colour, contrast and texture to an otherwise minimalist aesthetic.
