Misun Won

Misun Won’s jewellery is inspired by Korean traditional patchwork wrapping cloth ‘Jogakbo’ and its scientific interpretation with fractal geometry. She hand pierces patterns out from one single sheet of silver in order to celebrate the meaningful ritual of the patchwork making process. She mainly uses silver, gold and precious and semi-precious stones. Misun also uses colourful Korean braided cord, highlighting her Korean influences to make modern contemporary jewellery. She also specialises in ancient Korean gilding technique called 'Keumboo (24ct gold foil)' to emphasize the dynamic rhythmical structures in her jewellery.
