Sheng Zhang aims to create pieces that attempt to be aesthetic and sculptural, yet with a practical function. His designs are usually influenced and inspired by minimalist art, contemporary architecture and geometric form. Sheng’s work normally adheres to space, volume, silhouette, boundary and demonstrates the aesthetics of minimal style, purity of visual language and ethos of moderate.

A blend of traditional metal skills with intermittent aid of digital technologies are utilised to construct and complete his large-scale silver work and wearable jewellery pieces. A significant attention to detail and precision is urgently pursued in the whole process of designing and making.
