Annie Ruthven-Taggart’s jewellery is influenced by structures and shapes present in marine life and geological forms, in particular layered corals found on the seabed and colonies of mussel shells. Consequently, there is a strong emphasis on three-dimensionality, exploring the use of hollow and concave sculptural structures and the balance of intersecting forms.

These elements are created using the fly press and doming blocks, and pressed out in silver and 18ct gold. Abstract graphic textures, created in watercolour paper are embossed on to silver using the rolling mill and then a range of precious gemstones are used to compliment the sculptural forms.
