Janet Barber has a strongly biological fascination with nature, drawing her down roads of exploration that have a strong narrative, and expressed as journeys through a series of related pieces, telling the story of an obsession with a particular plant or creature.
As a product of a pragmatic generation she is increasingly throwing off the constraints and expectation. Having proved working within tradition, Janet is now embracing an abandonment to adventure recognising there is such perfectly outrageous colour, astounding structural detail and seemingly wasteful proliferating abundance in nature that is unnoticed. Ultimately aiming to focus attention back on the extraordinariness of life.
